Most of the races are unavailable for the player character and starting slave unless you choose sandbox mode vidmate android. Its a design choice.
As Crazymcgee said, you can modify your story save if needed. But it might be simpler to go and catch your own dryad in the Far Eerie Woods.
If this is your first play-through, I wouldn't recommend sandbox mode, as it skips much of the story and is far less challenging.
